Provider Training

A hub for perinatal learning

The perinatal community has come so far in the last 20 years. But there is so much more work to be done.

Mentorship and Consultation with Meeka

Meeka had an idea for Kansas City in 2003 and quickly became part of a national and global movement—ensuring women in all phases of reproductive life receive the most informed mental health care. She saw her first client in 2003 and never looked back. She was hungry to help others heal.

She stepped out into solo practice in 2008. To her surprise it grew and thrived through the housing bubble crisis in 2009. She grew from a team of 3 to a team of 5 just 2 weeks before the global pandemic shut the world down. And made it through that too! Beyond clinical work with clients and building a practice, Meeka often says she’s had the best time traveling the country to teach, speaking to local communities and organizations, creating a non-profit, and helping develop a national certification curriculum (think PMH-C). It’s been the most rewarding career she could have ever imagined.

In 2023 she was named a pioneer in perinatal mental health in the Midwest. She would argue she was just doing something that had to be done. She didn’t do it alone. Neither should you.

So, what can Meeka do to support you?

I can help get you unstuck with a complicated case that you can apply to many other cases.

If you are growing a clinical team or organization, I SEE YOU. Growing a great team is complex mentally and emotionally. Leadership can oddly be lonely. Let’s talk about what you have in mind and where you may be stumped or struggling as you grow.

I have done mom life, and my nest is now empty. Helping other moms when you are in the thick of it can be hard on your own mental health. I have lots of ideas.

I’ll tell you about my mistakes and what I what I learned so you don’t have to make them too.

Grab your coffee and let’s chat. Email me and see if I am a good fit!

Training for Professionals

Kara Shelman, LCSW, MHP and Meeka Centimano, LSCSW love to research create and teach. We taught a foundational and affordable 1-day workshop called “Minding Mental Health in the Reproductive Years.” and taught more than 100 providers. It connected the regional community during the pandemic. We loved every minute of it. Since there are so many foundational options now, we are turning our attention to the advanced reproductive mental health specialist.
